Animal Shelters in and Around Jersey City

Stray, unowned, and abandoned animals continue to roam around the streets in Jersey City. Thankfully, there are hardworking and compassionate people behind every Animal Shelter in Hudson County as well as neighboring counties. The rescue of these furry companions makes all the difference in their lives as well as the lives of the loving family that they will be part of. Therefore, we created a list with every Animal Shelter in and around Jersey City.

We thank all those people who give unselfishly to the saving and placement of these furry friends.

See Spot Rescued

See Spot Rescued is not a shelter. They are a non-profit 501(c)3 dog rescue based in Jersey City, NJ and Austin, TX staffed entirely by volunteers who work full-time jobs while coordinating the rescue, vetting, medical care, transportation, fostering, and adoption of as many amazing dogs as they can. Regardless of their age, health, or breed, and no matter what their needs are – from extensive vetting to surgery to a specific type of dog owner – they’re here to provide it. All of their dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and if necessary are de-wormed and de-flead, prior to adoption. And in any case in which the dog faces serious illness, they have them fully treated at their own expense. Because they’re worth it.

The staff at the animal shelters are doing an important job in keeping cats and dogs off the street. Every volunteer gives their time in making sure each furry companion is going to a loving home. Whether you are looking to adopt or foster, there is an animal for everyone. If you are not ready to make a new addition to your home, show your support for these animal shelters by donating or volunteering.
