The Crop Shop in Hoboken is offering a camp on April 17-21 from 9am – 3pm for children ages 6 and up. Activities for kids will include gardening, ceramics and clay work, painting, collaging and more! If your children are into dance, try the spring break camp at Monroe Street Movement Space in Hoboken. They make it convenient by allowing parents to register for a whole week or just single days. The camp runs April 17-21 from 9am – 3pm or 9am – 5pm and is offered for children ages 3 – 12 years old. Students must be fully potty-trained and not need a nap anymore. For a full week, prices range from $325-425 per child. Single days are $65 – $85 per day, per child. Siblings receive a discount. Plus, they offer early drop-off and late pick-up. No matter how the wather is, LSC is the best indoor place for kids in Jersey City.If you are in the Jersey City area, one of the best indoor playlands is Liberty Science Center! It is the perfect spot for rainy days, snowy days and pretty much any day that you don’t feel like playing outside. There are changing exhibits for kids of all ages and permanent fixtures that kids love. Experience. Tickets will cost you $19.75/Adult over 13 years of age and $14.75/Child ages 2 – 12 for general admission. Luckily, they offer great membership rates. A “Basic Family” membership will cost $140 and includes two adults and up to four kids under 18 years of age.

Tiny Greenhouse, an art and design studio for kids, is offering a camp called “The Return of Flowers” The camp runs from April 17-21 from 9am – 1pmfor ages 3.5 – 7 years. The cost is $375 for the week. Children will have the unique opportunity to celebrate the arrival of SPRING with lots of colors and art making. Eveline Hasler’s book ‘The Flower City’ will serve us as their inspiration for projects such as 3D sculptures, flower collage, drawings and paintings. Spring Break Camps & Classes In Jersey City

Head over to the New York Hall of Science in NYC to check out their Science Playground.

Through dozens of playground elements like slides, seesaws, sand pits, and fog machines, visitors of all ages and abilities can explore the scientific principles of motion, balance, sound, sight and simple machines, as well as sun, wind and water. Designed for children of all ages, Science Playground exhibits include a giant lever, Archimedes screw and water play area, wind pipes, a climbing net, slides, sand boxes and metal drums. The Science Playground is $5 per person, plus general NYSCI admission. The Science Playground is free for NYSCI Premium and Family Explorer Members. The last ticket is sold one hour before NYSCI general closing time.

Get Outside


If you need to just get outside, there are too many options to list. In our area, Liberty State Park is probably the first option that will come to mind. The large park offers many options to families seeking some outdoor activity. There is a large playground that the little ones love. There are pathways for biking, skating and running. As the Interpretive Center is still closed, check out the Richard J. Sullivan Natural Area, which is adjacent to the center and boasts 36 acres of natural area. You can take a self-guided nature path to observe this local wildlife habitat.

If you want some place a little bigger to explore, try Watchung Reservation. Only about 30 minutes from downtown Jersey City, this 2,000-acre natural area offers playgrounds, more than 13 hiking trails, Surprise Lake, the Deserted Village of Feltvile/Glenside Park and much more! Take the kids to the Trailside Nature and Science Center which offers 4,500 square feet of interactive, state-of-the-art exhibits and much more.

Branch Brook Park is located in Newark and is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Jersey City. The 360 acre park will begin its 2017 Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival. The fun begins on April 10 and runs through April 22.  Come on an off day and take a historic cell phone tour of the park!

If you haven’t checked out The Bronx Zoo, this is the time, before summer crowds make it hard to park and harder to see exhibits. There is a lot of outdoor walking, so dress appropriately. There are so many things to see and do at the Bronx Zoo including World of Birds, the Sea Lion Pool, the Congo Gorilla Forest and so much more! Newport Skates

Newport Skates’ rink is located right on the Hudson River, it’s the perfect vantage point for some major NYC skyline ogling (and an amazing backdrop for family photos). Since this rink is small and quaint the kids can skate on their own and you can still keep track of them. Plus it’s open for public skating every day (as long as the ice stays frozen), including holidays. Art Camp for entering Grades 1 through 6

Taught by our very own Ms. Therres, this Camp is a must the young artist in your life. Explore figure drawing, painting out in nature, building kinetic sculptures and more! Students will also “step into an artwork,” exploring a painting from history and recreating it live. A trip to a local art studio will also be a part of our week. The cost for this camp includes all materials!

STEM Camp

We’re excited to offer a STEM camp this summer.  Your child will learn about circuits, robotics and much more!  They will even create wearable circuits that they can take home! It will be a week of exploration, innovation and creativity. Students will also spend time outside each day.

STEM camp is a full day, week-long program.  Students entering Grades 5 – 8 may enroll in the first week of camp; students entering Grades 1 – 4 may enroll in the second week of STEM camp.

Camp Dates:

July 11th – Week 1 Begins; open to students entering Grades 5-8

July 18th – Week 2 Begins; open to students entering Grades 1-4

Camp will begin at 8:30 AM each morning, with an option to register for before care starting at 8:00AM.  Aftercare is available for participating students and runs from 3:30PM – 6:30 PM.

The cost for the camp is $560. Before care if free; after care is $20/day’ $80/week

All Saints “Around the World” Summer Camp

Does your school get out early?  Before the Fourth of July weekend?  Well, extend the school year with two weeks of summer fun, including World Games, Cooking, Yoga, Trivia, and Art at All Saints Day Camp.  We are happy to announce that this year the theme, “Around The World,” will visit the continents of Asia (week 1) and Australia and Antarctica (week 2).  Camp will include tie-dying, group challenges to compete for points (to help you with the final group trivia at the end of the week), and weekly trips to Tomahawk Lake AND the Asbury Park Splash Ground, along with a handmade camp memory book.  A final group trivia game and slideshow will round out each week.

This camp is for students entering First Grade through Seventh Grade.  Each day, families should send their children to camp with a snack and lunch (unless otherwise noted on the daily schedule).  Each child will receive a camp t-shirt (week 1) that they will tie-dye (note all campers will get a t-shirt, but if they only come week 2 it will not be tie-dyed).

Camp begins at 8:30 each morning and ends at 3:30 each afternoon, with extended care available until 6:00pm for an additional charge.  At $1,000 for both weeks or $550 for a single week, and $20 per day and only $80 for the full week for aftercare, this summer camp is the most exciting, action-packed and cost-effective summer child care available.
