Surati’s Performing Arts Summer Camp is an awesome opportunity to open-up your child’s imagination and creativity to cultures and art forms from India. Through a combination of dance and theatre, children are introduced to the exciting world of creative performing arts using ancient fables and folk tales like The Panchatantras and the Indian classical and Bollywood dance forms. Surati’s artistic Director and Founder, Rimli Roy’s concept will be implemented by her and other Surati instructors and artistes making it a unique learning experience that will stay with your children, forver.

Surati for Performing Arts is a New Jersey (Jersey City) based award-winning 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit performing arts organization that focuses on creating, showcasing, educating and preserving ethnic and world performing art forms with a special emphasis on Indian art and culture.

The Surati Professional Performing Arts Company creates and produces world class performing arts and eclectic original stage shows and musicals through dance, music and theatre often integrating a fusion of different genres from around the globe. Surati also offers arts-in-education programming, master classes and training workshops that provide an insight into each themed production to provide a deeper understanding of the art forms showcased. The Surati company led by its founder and Artistic Director Ms Rimli Roy has performed at prestigious and renowned venues throughout the United States and beyond such as the United Nations HeadquartersThe Kennedy Center (Washington D.C), The Lincoln Center, The Consulate General of India (NY),  The Alaska Performing Arts Center (Anchorage), The Reicchold Center @ The University of the U.S Virgin Islands, and also in Barbados to name a few.

The Surati Performing Arts School conducts classes, workshops, lecture demonstrations and educational events and imparts quality training to its students primarily in Indian dance – classical Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Bollywood, Bhangra and fusion choreography, music – Indian classical and light classical vocals, piano and guitar and musical theatre – acting, story-telling. Surati students perform at various community events throughout the year and get an opportunity to frequently present what they are learning at festivals and events. Surati students have performed at The Lincoln Center, The U.S Virgin Islands, The Indian Consulate, Alaska PAC and in Washington D.C.

Surati Community produces and presents socially relevant community festivals and events that have often originated in India but had an impact on the larger community. Surati community events and festivals harbor world peace, harmony and brotherhood. Surati’s signature Holi festival hosted on the Jersey City waterfront recently attracted almost 12,000 people from over 22 states in the U.S and 6 countries worldwide and featured live music, dance and other acts and festivities. Surati’s Diwali festival features its original Broadway style “Ramaavan” musical that blends Indian performing arts with ballet, jazz, modern and opera.
