It’s almost officially summer! It’s time to get out with the kids and head to the pool and the beach. That means it’s also time to get those kids swimming. Here are some swim lessons in the Jersey City and Hoboken area to take your little one. The facilities offer classes in a variety of age ranges, so there is surely a class that will work for you and your family.

This convenient Hamilton Park location is a big hit with local families! The pool is 49’ x 12’ and is heated for a comfortable year round temperature. They offer a children’s swim program is taught by certified swimming instructors. Classes are for ages 6 months and up. The classes run for 8-weeks and are offered in either a 30 minute or 45 minute class. Classes are $160 (members) or $216 (non-members) for a 30 minute class and $184 (members) or $240 (non-members). Pre-registration is required.
The various classes offered include “Parent & Me” for children 6 months – 3 years, “Children’s Beginner Basics” for children 3 – 6 years, “Children’s Beginner” for children 4 – 7 years, “Children’s Beginner/Intermediate for children 4 – 7 years, “Children’s Intermediate” for children 5 – 10 years and “Children’s Advanced” for children 6 – 12 years. They also offer private swim sessions for $40 (member) or $45 (non-member) per session.

This gym offers a large indoor pool and swimming lessons to both members and non-members of the facility. Each class is either 8-weeks with one class per week or 4-weeks with two classes per week. Registration is rolling, as there are new classes beginning every few weeks.
Classes are offered for a variety of age ranges. “Baby and Me” classes are for children 8 months – 26 months and parents will be in the water with the child. Beginners – Advanced classes are offered for children 4 – 7 years of age. These classes range in cost from $179 – $350. Private lessons are available for children 8 – 16 years of age. They do not supply information online, so you must go in to the gym to pick up a schedule and to register.
Registration is now open for the summer session at Steven’s Aquatics in Hoboken. Sessions run from now until August 14th. Each session is 4 weeks and is $100 per person registered per section. “Infant & Tyke” for small children with a parent in the water. “Children Lessons” are offered in levels including “Introduction to Water Skills”, “Fundamental Aquatic Skills”, “Stroke Development” and more. Children must master one level before graduating to the next.

Registration is now open for 2014. Swim school takes place over 10 consecutive weeks beginning June 30 for the summer in Hoboken. Five levels of classes are available to choose from, based on your child’s current swim level. All levels have the opportunity to swim twice per week and practice an additional two times per week. You may sign up for as many weeks as you wish, with no minimum.
Private lessons are also offered and can be arranged by contacting via email. Also, there are 30 minute drop-in classes offered for both infants (5 months – 2 years) and toddlers (3 – 4 years), in which you can get in the water with your child to try it out. You must pre-reserve a spot by calling or emailing in advance.
Sky Club offers swim programs for all ages and abilities. “Baby and Me/Toddler and Me” classes are offered for children 6 months – 36 months. “Beginner Basic” is for children 3 – 6 years of age and is for children with little previous exposure to the water. “Beginner Intermediate” is for children ages 3 – 6 years old and is for kids that have little fear of the water and are comfortable in it. “Beginner Advanced” is for children 3 – 6 years old and is for children who can already swim a little bit. There are also three “Intermediate” level classes offered and three advanced level classes.
