Best Places to Trick Or Treat In Jersey City
It’s that time of year again. The crisp air, the crunch of fallen leaves under our shoes, pumpkins, and Jack-O-Lanterns cascaded down the steps of brownstones. Halloween time is here, and various options for celebrating with your family come! There are a ton of things to do around this time of year.
Park Neighborhoods
If you want to trick-or-treat in a neighborhood, try finding one surrounded by a park such as Van Vorst Park, Hamilton Park, Lincoln Park, or Riverview Fisk Park in Jersey City Heights. Additionally, many families will be walking around, making them more kid-friendly locations. Businesses in areas will also be giving out candy if you head to Central Avenue or Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
Apartment Buildings
Many local buildings will host their own trick-or-treat inside the residency. Typically building managers will give residents a way to indicate whether or not they are participating in the event. If your building does something like this, it can be a great alternative as it is self-contained. Contact your building to find out if they are hosting trick-or-treat for families.

Stop by for a SPOOK-TACULAR HALLOWEEN Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31st, from 3 pm – 7 pm on Dwight St. between Martin Luther King Dr. and Bergen Ave.! There will be live music, popcorn, candy, and more!
JCPD North District Trunk or Treat
Friday, October 25th, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm
The Jersey City Police Department, North District, will be ghosting a Trunk or Treat. They invite everyone to join us for a spooktacular event. This event will occur on Jefferson Avenue, between Central Avenue & Summit Avenue. The event is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Free admission. More information here.
Spooktacular at Lincoln Park
Saturday, October 26, 2024, 1 pm – 4 pm
Sunday, October 27, 2024, 1 pm – 4 pm
Spooktacular has expanded to a whole weekend of tricks and treats in Lincoln Park! Lincoln Avenue and Clark Street businesses will transform into trick-or-treat stops. Join the haunted fun Saturday on Lincoln Avenue and Sunday on Clark Street to collect delicious treats and explore the neighborhood.
JCPD West District Trunk or Treat
Wednesday, October 29th, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm
We hope everyone is excited to join us for an evening of spooky fun at our Trunk or Treat & Haunted District. Everyone is invited to come and hang out with your friends from the West District & costumes are encouraged.
MALL-O-WEEN Trick Or Treat at Newport Mall
October 31st, 2024, from 3 pm to 6 pm
Little ghouls and witches are invited to visit Newport Centre for the Annual MALL-O-WEEN Trick or Treat on Thursday, October 31, from 3 pm – 6pm. Participating retailers will have a “Treats Here” sign in their store’s window to indicate participation.
Halloween Family Bash
Thursday, October 31st, 2023, from 3 pm to 8 pm
A ghoulishly good time in historic downtown Jersey City on Halloween! There will be games, a corn maze, face-painting, pumpkins, a bouncy house, candy, and MORE!
