As Paloma and her family navigate changes they can’t control\, they hold tightly to each other and hope for a better future. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to celebrate the 9th Annual Indian Independence Day Celebration in Jersey City. \nPlease RSVP here and check out the update here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1021192928939172/. \nThis is the most prominent Indian Independence Day event in downtown Jersey City; you don’t want to miss this. \nThis year\, we are proud to showcase Mallakhamba\, or Mallakhamb\, a traditional sport originating from the Indian subcontinent\, in which a group of gymnasts perform aerial yoga and gymnastic postures using wrestling grips in concert with a stationary vertical pole. The word “mallakhamb” also refers to the pole used in the sport. \nWe also invite seniors and parents to join the group\, singing the Indian national anthem with the kids. \nThe event will feature adult dance performances\, solo and group singing\, kids’ dance performances\, traditional Indian cuisine\, Bollywood music and dance\, as well as local businesses showcasing their products and services. \nThere will be face-painting from 5 to 8 pm at the event. \nWe also invite our seniors to host the flag and to sing the national anthem on the stage. \nAdditionally\, there are numerous activities for both kids and parents. \n \nVendors and business owners\, please email us at indiansinjerseycity@gmail.com to participate in the event. \nPlease send an email to indiansinjerseycity@gmail.com to participate in the event. \nIf you can volunteer to help us out\, please fill out the form: https://forms.gle/srAhwckEQYiRgq2u9
