Super Easy Snowmen | Time to Create with Lady Lucas

Written by Ashley Lucas

Happy December! Moms, here’s an arts & crafts project children of any age can enjoy! Display these snowmen around the house this month, or use them as adorable gift tags. Either way, they’ll be a hit and add something extra cute to your holiday decor.

Materials you will need:

  • White paper {thick construction paper or card stock works best}

  • Round lids or glasses in different sizes

  • Pencil

  • Eraser

  • Markers and/or colored pencils

  • Scissors

  • Optional – string, hole puncher or tape for gift tags

Step 1 Select two different sizes of round lids or drinking glasses and trace around them lightly to form a snowman. Intersect the circles as shown in the photograph above and below.

Step 2 After creating various snowmen shapes on your sheet of paper, cut each one out with scissors. If you’d like, erase the pencil marks. (I always use a kneaded eraser from the art supply store because it works great to remove all marks!)

Step 3 Using markers or colored pencils, decorate the side of the snowman that has no pencil marks. If you plan on using your snowman as a gift tag, add the words ‘To’ ‘From’ or ‘Love’. I enjoy taping these directly onto a package, but you could also punch a hole at the top and string some yarn through.

Step 4 Instead of gift tags, you can easily:

  • prop your snowmen up around the house as a decoration
  • make them into holiday ornaments and hang them on the Christmas tree
  • use double sided tape and add them to the windows or your refrigerator
  • give them away as bookmarks!

I’ve been quite inspired by snowmen this month during my #25DaysofSnowmen blog exhibit. Each day of December I’ll be posting a new illustration featuring snowy characters, so feel free to stop by to get some inspiration for your own snowmen this month. {Kids will love stopping by too… I promise!}
