Yesterday was an amazing day – my son and I trekked over to the Children’s Food Exhibit in NYC, and took with us SO much invaluable information. What’s more is that he was engrossed and engaged for 8 hours of exciting activity geared towards what to PUT IN your body, and what to KEEP OUT of it! That’s priceless.
Diabetes and overweight children are on the RISE here in the United States, and sadly, the road begins at home, which means PARENTS need to get active in the fight against disease!
Maybe you or someone you know has suffered from overweight, or diabetes (Type I, Type II, or gestational)…it is vital that we prevent and protect OUR children from making poor choices now, so that in ten years when they are out on their own with friends, they do the same. Instilling healthy habits early is the key to your child’s success. Pizza, corn dogs, french fries…the list goes on and on!
Healthy eating and engaging my son is healthy eating is a priority in my house. If you think your child wouldn’t be interested in educational activities, you’d be wrong! Try it, you might like it!
If you’d like tickets, please message me. There is also a cooking show for kids following this that I am sure will be the topic of your child’s day – it was for mine!
And remember, “be the change you want to see in the world” – and in your kids! 🙂
