We applied to get into the River School on Warren Street in October 2013 before our daughter was born. I was told there was a wait at the time, but I was not made aware until now that they have applicants from Dec 2012 still trying to get in! That said, this has left us scrambling to look for quality childcare in the Paulus Hook/WFC district before I head back to work in early March. Ideally we would like to stay on the wait list for River School and enroll her as soon as there is an opening, but we are not married to this idea if we are presented with a better childcare solution along the way. We hear that River School is opening a new extension in Sept across the street which means there is the possibility she will make it in by then but still no guarantees. In the meantime, we would like to place our sweet little one with someone trustworthy. We are open to a nanny share situation where I would drop her off somewhere as long as the home is in walking distance in or around Paulus Hook/WFC district. Alternatively wondering if there any stay at home mom’s who could take care of her until we can get into River. Full time, part time — whatever! Our daughter would be 3 months old in March.
