About the Artists Eric Fraser– Bansuri Eric Fraser has been intimately learning Indian classical music from his guru, Pandit Gopal Roy of Kolkata, India, for almost 10 years. Eric is a 2010 Fulbright senior research scholar for Indian music. His flute playing embodies his gharana and its emphasis on rich tone, as well as its lyricism and Indian classical vocal style. Eric performs Indian classical music on the bansuri flute in India and the USA, including much collaboration as an accompanist for Indian dance, as well as a diverse body of fusion projects.
Samit Banik u2013 TablaSamit Banik has been learning tabla since childhood under the guidance of Abhijit Banerjee. Samit is based in the area of Kolkata, India, and is currently in New York conducting tabla classes and performing.
