My daughter has a sweet tooth, so while i was on a look out for some healthy sweet snacks for her ( toddler, preschooler stage).. below is one such HIT recipe which i thought could be Shared…

      Health Value:

100 gms of this recipe contains Haliv or Garden cress seeds – 100 gms Iron, Jaggary – 100 gms of Iron, Coconut – 5 gms of Fat. Some portions of Calcium and Phospherous!

Haliv Laddoo Chura (Haliv are also called as Garden cress seeds) Try AMP market or Indian Patel stores.

      Ingredients –

Garden cress seeds, Jaggary, Milk, Coconut fresh grated or white frozen( ensure within expiry date)

      Recipe –

      1. Soak the Haliv or Garden Cress seeds in milk for 2 hours.

      2. Once they are well soaked, and you can feel the softness, add jaggary, grated coconut and stir cook on slow heat.

      3. You will the water evaporates, and it turns crispier..

      4. sprinkle a dash of nutmeg powder ( very little.)

      5. Once the mixture gets cooler, round them into laddooos..

If you are a bit lazy like me..Just add a lil milk and serve her/him halwa..;)

So hope your LO enjoys this..remember it takes 3-5 attempts to kids to get aquainted to new food. So dont loose hope!

tip: its evengood for winters, but hey east coast is chilly till May. So its never late 🙂

      Regards,

      Shilpa
