Post natal services….Taking care of mommie after baby is born

The birth of my daughter was amazing! I had an all natural birth, no intervention, no drugs, and my birthing plan was followed down to the last request. All this was done in a hospital! yes that’s right, I said hospital. Jersey City medical to be exact. Having such a beautiful experience and everyone telling me how lucky I was to deliver a 9lb 2ounce baby naturally and my birth plan acknowledged, I was waiting for those amazing feelings to rush over me like the movies portray after having a baby, to match my experience. However I was very surprised when that didn’t necessarily happen? Don’t get me wrong, in the hospital I was fine, she latched on right away, I got the hang of holding, changing her, etc… After bringing her home, that transition was a bit rough. I was terrified, I felt like I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, having nightmares that I would drop her, all kinds of stuff! worst of all, I didn’t feel like I could share any of this information with my family. friends, or husband because I felt like I would be judged and people think I was depressed. I know now that I was experiencing post postpartum or the industry term “mommie blues” which is very different from postpartum depression. However going through this, I wasn’t prepared nor did anyone tell me about the emotional, physical, and mental changes that would take place after having a baby…..

Hence Myrtle&Flossie an online boutique that caters to the needs of post natal moms by providing fashionable, stylish, clothing as your body transitions, great nursing bras and products, Eco-friendly organic skin care, a few key essential baby items, informational workshops, and beneficial spa services for post baby issues was created. There are tons of brands that cater to pregnant, expecting woman, and tons of companies that cater to baby. However there are very few companies that address issues, concerns, and needs of an under served market, post natal moms…life after baby is born and navigating through the journey.

Two great services that I am passionate about and have experienced myself are Herbal Body Wraps and V-steam (vaginal steam baths). Great for post baby issues and overall women health. HBW are great for an array of issues but particular good for the after baby loose tummy skin or what we like to call in the industry, “baby pouch”. V-steams are super beneficial for overall internal womb health and a list of other women issues that occur. If you haven’t experienced anyone of these services, I would take the time to read the information being provided and really consider trying it. It has impacted my life in such a positive way that I highly recommend it for women in general but particular new moms…. I understand, I was just there and I am working on baby number two as we speak, lol! However I am better prepared this time around!

When mommy looks good, she feels good, therefore she can be the best mommie she can be! www.myrtleandflossiematernity.com

V-STEAM

Benefits of Vaginal Steam Baths
Vagina Steam baths bring heat to the womb. The use of specific medicinal herbs adds layers of different healing benefits, depending on the fertility-related health condition being treated. The combination of herbs work to nourish, tone, heal, bring in fresh oxygenated blood, promote cleansing, and make supple the vaginal and uterine tissues.
Women who may benefit from a V-steam would be those with the following conditions: uterine fibroids, painful menstruation, uterine weakness, uterine prolapse, irregular menstrual cycles, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, reproductive adhesion/scar tissue, previous vaginal tear or episiotomy, and dark purple or brown blood at the onset or end of menses.

Herbal Body Wraps
Body wraps for cellulite elimination and detoxification have become very popular these days. Body wraps can aid in healing of skin problems, tone and tighten the skin, improve circulation, alleviate muscle and joint pain, treat acne, detoxify the body and help mobilize fat so it can be eliminated from the body naturally.

You need to set aside about 1 hours of your time to enjoy the wrap. It is recommended that you do 1 wrap per week for at least 6 weeks and then 1 per month after that, for maintenance and continued detoxification. It is however safe enough to do a wrap every day or even multiple wraps in one day to quicken the effects.
