The French American Academy in Jersey City offers 2 fun and enriching summer programs for students.
The Bilingual French Summer Camp invites children ages 3 to 9 to become Rainforest Explorers of the World, discovering different regions of the world and the fascinating ecosystems of tropical rainforests while learning and practicing both French and English. Through engaging activities like STEM projects, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and local field trips, campers explore nature, wildlife, and global cultures in a fun and hands-on way. They also enjoy creative projects and special experiences such as Jungle Obstacle Courses and the Les Petits Artistes de la Forêt art showcase, all led by bilingual teachers in a supportive and playful environment.

Jeff Lake Camp is a day camp with a sleepaway feel, where campers tackle ropes courses, play on sports fields and tennis courts, spend time in dance, gymnastics, and art studios, and learn to swim in five heated pools. Tessa International School Summer Camp is a bilingual language immersion camp in Hoboken for children ages 2–10, offering Spanish, French, or Mandarin in a dynamic and nurturing environment. Language learning is woven naturally into each day through STEM projects, collaborative games, music, storytelling, creative arts, and hands-on exploration led by experienced bilingual teachers. No prior experience in the language required. Each week introduces an exciting theme such as inventors week, world cup week, or wild wonders week, enhanced by special guests and enrichment experiences. Campers enjoy daily outdoor play, water activities, and team challenges that keep them active and engaged. Programs are thoughtfully designed by age: younger children (2–4) experience play-based discovery and early language exposure, while older campers (5–10) take part in collaborative projects, STEM challenges, and sports games. Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County (BGCHC)
BGCHC operates an 8-week, full-day summer program (7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.) in Jersey City and Hoboken, serving over 700 youth across multiple sites. Programming includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily.
In 2025, our Jersey City program operated under the theme Imaginarium: Build Your World, integrating creativity, STEM exploration, literacy, and performance into a cohesive, project-based experience.
Academic & Literacy Enrichment
Summer Brain Gain mitigated summer learning loss through Common Core-aligned modules in math and literacy. In 2025, we enhanced this curriculum with introductory artificial intelligence and digital literacy concepts, encouraging youth to explore technology’s role in shaping the future.
STEM – Youth participated in role-based STEM groups (Scientists, Engineers, Designers), completing weekly lessons in biology, chemistry, physics, oceanography, and applied design. The program culminated in a collaborative final project in which teams designed and presented original, science-based “worlds.”
Digital Media & Arts
Youth explored photography, video production, editing, visual arts, fashion design, dance, STEP, spoken word, improv, and music production. Programming culminated in a campus-wide “World Expo” showcase where families viewed student work and performances.
Health & Wellness
Healthy Habits programming promoted nutrition, hydration, emotional regulation, and physical wellness. Youth also participated in sports, swimming, and recreation.
Nature & Environmental Learning
Hands-on eco-exploration included terrarium building, ecosystem studies, and sustainability challenges.

Our summer camp offers four different sessions for parents to choose from, with multiple timing options to help meet the needs of our families. We have also designed two separate summer camp programs, one for preschoolers and one for Kindergartners – 6th Graders!
PreK 2, PreK 3, PreK 4 / 110 1st Street Location: Our exciting summer camp program is a balance of fun and creativity, with an emphasis on student-driven, inquiry-based approaches to learning! Each week features a different unique theme, such as Under the Sea, Little Explorers, and Around the World. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) will be incorporated each day in a hands-on way. Campers will have opportunities to continue to build on their academic skills, including mathematics and literacy. Our camp also features daily outdoor time!
Kindergarten – 8th Grade / 210 Hudson Street Location (Harborside Plaza 3) : Featuring robotics, engineering, coding, creative arts and STEAM academics, campers will problem solve and collaborate on projects in a student-driven, inquiry-based setting! Jersey City Dance Academy invites dancers of all levels to an exciting summer of movement, featuring programs tailored for ages 3 to 18. We offer hour-long, 5-Week Workshops (Wednesdays, July 1–29) with choices of Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, or Early Childhood Creative Dance for Ages 3-5.
