Regarding tourist spots, Battery Park City in New York is on top and it is very close to Jersey City. It was created as an extension of Lower Manhattan in the early 1980s. Battery Park City Esplanade and Park
This wide esplanade is located on the banks of the Hudson River, and it is considered by many purists to be Battery Park City’s best feature. It stretches from Battery Park itself right to the edge of Tribeca. The main path of the esplanade is perfect for running, strolling, and biking. The lawns are ideal for a game of frisbee or volleyball.
Brookfield Place
Brookfield Place combines luxury shopping with high-quality eateries. It is a center for year-round events and entertainment. In the center, you will find the Winter Garden atrium and its sixteen soaring Washingtonia Palms. It is a great place to just sit and enjoy the glass atrium overlooking the river. Pier A
Pier A Harborhouse is permanently closed.
This Pier is located right on the water and centered on a nautical theme. Therefore, stopping for a bite or drink for hungry and thirsty people walking around Battery Park all day is ideal.
Irish Hunger Memorial
Consider visiting the Irish Hunger Memorial for a short stroll in the Irish countryside. This is located in at the corner of Vesey Street and North End Avenue. This memorial commemorates the Great Irish Famine. Here, you will find stones from all of Ireland’s many counties, making it a chunk of Ireland away from Ireland. The highlight of this memorial is a reconstructed authentic Famine-era cottage that was donated to them. From the cottage leads a path bordered by native Irish plants. It goes up the structure from where you have a good view of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Rockefeller Park
This park features the single most extensive lawn in Battery Park City. This park is a picture-perfect spot for picnics, sports, and plain old-fashioned sunbathing. A green respite for the residents and visitors as well, Rockefeller Park holds most of the open lawns of Battery Park. There are playgrounds and gardens as well as paintings and public artwork. Bathrooms are located in the Park House. It is a beautiful place to spend your time especially since the breeze from the river often makes it all the more refreshing.

If hungry, stroll into the Merchants River House in Battery Park City. This is one riverside restaurant almost guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds and stifle those hunger pangs. It is a 100 percent all-American eatery that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
South West NY
South West NY is permanently closed.

South Cove Park
A little walk from Battery Park will get you to South Cove Park. A small, quieter park, this has a quaint little bridge and a waterside promenade and affords great views of the Hudson. If you walk north from here on the boardwalk, you will reach Rockefeller Park. Also, you will be able to behold the Statue of Liberty in all its splendor, along with a fleet of sailing boats.
Teardrop Park
The aptly named Teardrop Park is located in the middle of the bustling city and is almost entirely hidden by multiple tall Battery Park City residential buildings. It is located between Warren St and Murray St, east of River Terrace. It has a playground and dogs are allowed. There is a public restroom here.
South Teardrop Park
Its Teardrop Park South counterpart is located across the street from central Teardrop Park and has its arena, between Murray and Vesey St, north of the Irish Hunger Memorial. This is a popular place for kids to play on hot days since there’s a small water play area here.
