Jersey City always offers vibrant and delicious food options! We can’t help but admire these fantastic businesses that bring us new cuisines and food to try out! We are fortunate to have various food options, including indoor and outdoor dining. Here is the list of new food spots you must check out.

As the city is growing significantly and new businesses are opening, a variety of restaurants are opening regularly in the town. Some of them opened in 2024, while some will be opening their doors in 2025. Let’s welcome these newcomers!  Now, you have a variety of places to try, and please do share your reviews when you decide to visit the places mentioned in this blog. Here’s a list of the new food spots in Jersey City!

Lil M Cafe

57 Sip Ave, Jersey City

Lil M Cafe is open in Journal Square. This new spot brings their popular milk teas, brown sugar boba, and specialty drinks to the neighborhood.

Molly Tea

223 Grove Street, Jersey City

If Jasmine Tea is your thing, look no further. Molly Tea is here in Jersey City! Its first NJ store is here, and you can bet this new bubble tea spot will get a warm welcome.

Saoco Café

601 Jefferson Street, Hoboken

Saoco Café @saococafe is officially coming to Hoboken! Their Grand Opening is on January 10, 2026

Olaide’s Kitchen

516 Paterson Plank Road, Jersey City


Olaide’s Kitchen is a West African restaurant known for its authentic Nigerian dishes inspired by Chef Olaide Tella’s heritage. After serving Parlin, NJ, since 2017, the team has now expanded to Jersey City. You can find them on DoorDash and Uber Eats as well.

O Kafe

331 Marin Blvd, Jersey City

The Bourke Street Bakery space on Marin Blvd will now become the second home of @okafenj, following their Hamilton Park shop. This location will feature a larger setup with coffee, pastries, and convenient grab-and-go options. Officially opening on Dec 11th.

Butter

156 Brunswick Street, Jersey City

Butter is a small-batch bakery that just opened in the former Rabble & Lion space.
It’s all about fresh croissants, breads, and pastries baked daily, with early hours and weekend sell-outs.

Run Cafe

Berry Lane Park, JC

A new weekend spot has launched in Berry Lane Park, offering coffee, light bites, and a Sunday hangout for runners and park visitors. Run café operates Sundays only, 8AM–2PM, and also runs vintage markets with local vendors throughout the season.

Ikos

190 Steuben St., Jersey City

A new dining spot is on the way to Downtown Jersey City. Ikos is bringing its “vibe dining” concept – Mediterranean flavors, cocktails, and a warm nightlife feel. Opening in November 2025, you can look forward to Bold flavors, DJ nights, and warm hospitality.

Legends FC

Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza

Legends FC is a modern sports bar and restaurant now open on the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Expect good food, creative cocktails, and plenty of screens for live sports.

Barrio Barista Espresso Bar

60 Sip Ave, Jersey City

A new cafe, Barrio Barista, is opening on Nov 8, 2025, in Journal Square. First 25 customers get a free Barrio Barista tote bag. Come and sip on Sip Ave.

Cafe Littles

80 Mallory Ave, Jersey City


Cafe Littles is now welcoming neighbors to enjoy coffee, light bites, and a cozy space designed for families and friends. The café features daily board games and an outdoor area that will soon host small events like movie nights. Monday to Thursday, it is open from 8 am to 1 pm. Friday and Saturday, the cafe will open from 9 am to 5 pm.

Sushi Makoto

365 Palisade Ave, Jersey City

Sushi Makoto is now open at 365 Palisade Ave, Jersey City Heights. It has taken over the former Ichiban spot. This new sushi spot offers fresh rolls for dine-in or online orders.

Po Boy Riche

89 Monitor Street, Jersey City

There is a new restaurant in Bergen-Lafayette. A new Creole eatery from New Orleans has opened here.

Island Central

329 Central Ave., Jersey City

Opened earlier this year at 329 Central Ave, @islandcentral.nj brings Kamayan feasts and traditional Filipino dishes to Jersey City Heights.

San Patricios

8 Erie St A, Jersey City

San Patricios, a Mexican Cantina meets Irish Pub by The Dead Rabbit, has opened in Jersey City at 8 Erie Street.

A new addition to Van Vorst neighborhood, Tree House is a charming neighborhood coffee shop.

Akihi Bubble Tea

219 Washington St. Hoboken

Akihi Bubble Tea is opening this fall. The first 200 customers get a FREE drink — no purchase needed. Akihi has other locations as well, including in Newark, Metuchen, Highland Park, and more.

Blank Street Coffee

Exchange Place, Jersey City

Blank Street Coffee is officially coming to Exchange Place! The Brooklyn-born coffee chain, known for its sleek aesthetic and affordable espresso, is opening a new location right across from the PATH and light rail.

With locations around NYC, London, Boston, and more, it’s Jersey City’s turn to sip the matcha.

Urban Market

333 Grand Street, Jersey City

Brooklyn-based Urban Market is set to open a new 10,000+ sq ft location at 333 Grand Street in Jersey City in 2026. The space is part of the Liberty Harbor development, across from the Jersey City Medical Center and Light Rail stop.
Their Kitchen Menu includes breakfast sandwiches and premium subs/wraps.

Wonder

350 Grove Street, Jersey City

Coming to 350 Grove Street this September: a new spot where you can order dishes from multiple iconic restaurants in one place — for pickup, delivery, or dine-in.

Little Mingo

305 1st Street, Hoboken

Little Mingo opened on Sunday, Aug 10, 2025, with free coffee, waffle samples and a DJ performance. A new coffee spot in the neighborhood, this place offers coffee, crepes, waffles, etc.

Incontro Caffe

351 Summit Ave, Jersey City

Located at the corner of Summit and Academy, this is a new cafe serving beverages and breakfast items. Check out Incontro Caffe.

Saoco Cafe

601 Jefferson St., Jersey City

Signage has been up since spring. A new cafe is set to open in Hoboken soon. We don’t have the information on the date of opening.

Mariscos El Submarino

103 Christopher Columbus. Dr. Jersey City

Mariscos El Submarino, NYC’s favorite Mexican seafood restaurant, opened in downtown Jersey City a few months back. Known for its bold Mexican seafood, fresh ceviches, and laid-back atmosphere, this spot is already popular with the residents and visitors alike. Check out their menu here.

SRO Bar

107 10th St., Hoboken

10th Street, Hoboken, can look forward to an exciting addition – a Cocktail Bar! Opening Summer of 2025, this spot is brought to you by Anthony David’s. It’s called SRO Bar, a cozy new cocktail bar, and is designed to bring back the magic of a classic neighborhood hangout — think great drinks, good vibes, and intimate conversations.

The Sicilian Guy

211 Newark Ave, Jersey City

The Sicilian Guy brings you hearty sandwiches, traditional dishes, and homemade desserts to the heart of Downtown Jersey City. They moved their Bayonne store to the new location a week ago. 

Stormy Cafe

738 West Side Avenue, Jersey City

Coming soon to the West Side Ave, this cozy cafe will serve up halal meals, specialty coffee, artisan pastries, ice cream, and a relaxed neighborhood vibe.

Pickle Joy

If you love pickles, this is the place to head to. Pickle Joy is opening soon in Hoboken. They offer small-batch pickles made with high-quality, all-natural ingredients.

Daikon Carrot

26 University Pl Blvd, Jersey City

A bold fusion of Asian cuisines just opened up in the Rivet complex on West Side Ave. Expect delicious Banh Mi sandwiches, bowls, wraps, street fries, and refreshing drinks at the Daikon Carrot.

Paris Baguette

Newport and Journal Square

Coming soon to both Newport and Journal Square, this popular bakery and café chain is expanding in Jersey City — with not one, but two new spots! Expect all your favs at Paris Baguette – signature cakes, pastries, sandwiches and coffee.

The Colonial Grill

1 Newark St, Hoboken, New Jersey

The Colonial Grill food truck is here in Hoboken. A father-son endeavor, this spot will bring in some variety and flavor with their signature Patacón “Plantain” Burger.

The Feathered Fox

Well, we have a new burger place on Varick St. Holy Burger brings NYC’s burger game straight to the neighborhood.

Wingstop

502 Washington Street, Hoboken

The Korean corn dog shop, Kong Dog, closed at this location and the place is now being taken over by the popular Wingstop, which is known for its bold flavors and crispy wings.

Le Four

520 Jersey Ave, JC

Jersey Avenue is set to see a new bakery & café. The Le Four cafe is coming soon.
Le Four is taking over the old Buon Appetito spot and will serve fresh pastries and coffee in the heart of JC.

Yakitame Bento + Katsu

501 Central Avenue, JC Heights, JC

Yakitame Bento + Katsu just opened on 501 Central Avenue, JC Heights. If you are looking for some good Donburi, Onigiri, Bento box, or Katsu, this is the place to head to. People love the welcoming atmosphere of this restaurant.

Apollo Bagels

Apollo Bagels, a Manhattan chain, is scheduled to open its new location in Hoboken this summer. So, if you are craving sourdough bagels and open-faced sandwiches, you don’t need to go to the city. It will be available right here in Hoboken!

There’s a ‘Coming Soon’ board up for another cafe in Hoboken! It is great to see the cafe choices increasing in town. Look out for Saoco Cafe!

Shang Gong Chu

319 Warren Street, JC

With beautiful, elegant interiors and bold flavors, Shang Gong Chu is open now in Downtown Jersey City. They serve modern Chinese fusion food.

Call Me Mia

363 2nd Street, JC

The Village neighborhood of Historic Downtown Jersey City has a new addition. Call Me Mia is a cozy, family-owned café brought to life by husband and wife team Giovanni and Dominique. They serve locally roasted coffee, fresh pastries, and simple bites—all in a setting that nods to nostalgic Italy.

A new restaurant is coming to 564 Newark Avenue—right across from the Hudson County Courthouse! Taking over the former Cilantro spot, it’s being opened by the team behind Rumba Cubana Restaurant and will serve up breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

bb.q Chicken US

Grove Street, Jersey City

bb.q Chicken US is opening soon at Grove Street — bringing their iconic Korean fried chicken and famous sauces straight from Seoul to Jersey City. They are looking to bring you an authentic taste of Seoul.

If you want to indulge in fluffy biscuits, you have a new place to head to. The Biscuit Babe. Biscuits and coffee are on the menu. Biscuit sandwiches, pastries, and a variety of coffee, tea and spritzers are available.

Near JSQ PATH Station

More options are coming up right next to the JSQ PATH station. A new pizza spot is coming to Journal Square. Jersey Pizza Shop will be serving up authentic pizza and Italian specialties right next to the PATH station.

Forum Coffee is bringing the coffee renaissance to NJ! A growing North Jersey café group, Forum Coffee is opening its newest location at 123 Washington St. on Saturday, March 15th! Green Pear Cafe

The Pear Hoboken @thepearhoboken is back! Green Pear Cafe is a Fire-fighter-owned Italian cafe in Hoboken. Same great coffee (with seasonal specials!), plus a revamped menu. The location on central Washington Street that once housed Mikey Squared bar/restaurant will soon be home to a new outpost of an Indian restaurant from Jersey City. Pariwaar Delights, @pariwaardelightsnj, known for its  South Indian and North Indian food on Newark Avenue in Jersey City, recently put up new signage at 616 Washington St.

1100 Ave at Port Imperial, Weehawken

New restaurant in our neighboring town at Weehawken waterfront! @faubourgweehawken offers French-inspired fare paired with unique wines, craft cocktails, and attentive service in a modern brasserie-inspired space, complete with an open kitchen, grand bar, cocktail lounge, and outdoor seating just one block away from the Weehawken waterfront.

Bahn Pho

234 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken

Bahn Pho, a new BYOB modern Vietnamese restaurant has just opened. Offering Thai dishes, fresh seafood, sandwiches and more

Ivory Baking Co

404 14th St. Hoboken

Ivory Baking offers custom cakes and will soon be opening in Hoboken.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream: This NYC-based ice cream shop will open its second Hudson County location at 537 Washington Street!

Maxwell Alley

A new restaurant by Coolvines opened in June of 2025 in the space that formerly had Gringo’s. Maxwell Alley will feature a seasonally inspired, often changing menu that incorporates methods and flavor influences from around the globe. Coupled with an inventive bar program and a deep, yet accessible wine list.

Milkshake Factory

175 Newark Ave, Jersey City

Originally started in 1914 in Pittsburgh, Milkshake Factory is popular for chocolates and of course, milkshakes. Jersey City has its own Milkshake Factory opening soon at 175 Newark Ave.

Koocheh Coffee

1320 Bloomfield St, Hoboken

They serve fresh coffee and simple pastries. They have outdoor seating or you can sit inside near the window and watch Hoboken life go by. If you want to work, this cafe provides that environment too.

Angelo Seafood Market

626 Washington Street, Hoboken

Angelo Seafood Market sells fresh seafood and also has a raw bar. They will have specialty seafood and prepared foods, ranging from lobster rolls to fillets.
