About 55 minutes away from Jersey City, Alstede Farms pick your strawberry farm allows you to choose daily from 9 am to 6 pm with no closed days. Admission is free or reasonably priced on the weekends and weekdays for around $6.99 per person. They also offer hayrides and live entertainment before you head out to pick your berries. Although you may not want to pay an admissions fee, it gets you a bit more than just picking the berries and may be worth the cost for the total experience this farm offers! Weekday tickets are discounted.
Each person must first purchase a PYO Entry Ticket that includes a specific container. Your entry ticket includes access to our pick your own areas, a quart container or six (6)-quart flat container of your choosing to fill with strawberries, the cost of the strawberries to fill said quart or six-quart flat, scenic hay wagon rides around our farm, access to their hay pyramid and evergreen maze.
The timeframe noted on this event/ticket is your check-in time to which you have a thirty (30) minute window from said time to check-in. You will have plenty of time to participate in all farm activities. If you are late for your time slot, they can not guarantee that you will be allowed on the farm for any activities, and no refunds will be permitted.

This is an excellent option for larger families because there are no entry fees, and prices for berries are calculated by the pound, although you must call their business phone number for exact pricing. Giamarese Farm and Orchards
A breezy 45-minute drive away from Jersey City, this family-owned and operated strawberry farm is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. They have a few different strawberry varieties, which include: Cabot, Chandler, Daroyal, Darselect, Mayflower, Rutgers Scarlet, Sunset, and Wendy, which makes it fun for the family to taste test each variety of strawberry to compare and decide which kinds are liked best. Call before to check for availability. Admission on the Weekends: $8, $3 applied to hayride to and from the field, $5 credit toward purchasing berries.

Lee Turkey Farm
Lee Turkey Farm is much more than just a place to get your farm fresh turkeys. They also have pick-your-own fruits and veggies, including delicious and juicy strawberries. Before entering their fields and orchards, you must be a member of the Lee Turkey Farm Pick Your Own Club, which is $2 for the entire family for the whole year. Before you pick, they also charge a $5 picking deposit per adult which goes towards your purchase. Their farm hours are 9:00 am til 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday and Sundays from 2:00 pm til 6:00 pm. Please keep in mind that if you’re planning on picking, you must be at the farm no later than 5:15 pm.

Melick’s Town Farm
East of Jersey City and an excellent strawberry picking farm around Jersey City, NJ, Melick’s Town Farm offers some of the best strawberry pickings in New Jersey. This family-owned farm has been operating for 300 years, so they know a thing or two about growing some delicious fruits and veggies. Their barriers certainly won’t disappoint. Reservations are $2.99 per person for one hour of picking. There are no refunds, and appointments can not be moved. The strawberries themselves are $3.99 per pound. The strawberries are available but not overly plentiful. To guarantee entry, please make an online reservation. Reservations are available the day prior at approximately 4:00 and are needed for everyone two years and up. Please, no pets at the farm.

Peterson Farm is now offering pick-your-own strawberries. They provide affordable picking prices at only $2.90 per pound, so you can let the kids load their baskets full of these juicy berries. The farm only takes cash or check, so make sure you have before heading out to this farm with the family. This farm is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).

Stop by Wightman Farms to pick your own strawberries. The one-time entrance fee is $10 per person, ages three and up. The entry fee grants you access to the picking area based on the season. You must pay for what you pick, and you also get a reusable tote.
