Top 12 Pumpkin Patches Near Jersey City

If you’ve already brought out your coziest sweaters and lit all of your fall-scented candles, your fall bucket list probably includes visiting a pumpkin patch. We’re here to help you check that off of your list! Along with picking out your perfect pumpkin, you and your family can explore corn mazes, sip on some yummy cider, go apple picking, and much more Here’s our list of the Top 12 Pumpkin Patches Near Jersey City.

Heaven Hill Farm

451 NJ-94, Vernon Township, NJ 07462

A 1982 roadside fruit and vegetable stand grew into a full-service Garden Center, Nursery, Farm Market, and go-to spot for seasonal events! Create fun fall memories with your family at Heaven Hill Farm, where they take their pumpkins seriously. Enjoy the Great Pumpkin Festival, which is the largest fall festival in Nothern, New Jersey! You can enjoy their corn mazes, hayrides, pig races, and so much more! You can purchase tickets in advance so that your spot is secured.

Melick’s Town Farm

170 Oldwick Road, Whitehouse Station

This farm is a bit further down Route 78 than Ripple Hill Farm. It’s about a 45-minute drive from downtown Jersey City. Melick’s also has two other locations in Califon and Bridgewater (a bit further from us). You can pick your own pumpkins at their Califon location, but they offer a large selection of pumpkins at all of their farm locations. The farm market also has seasonal fruit and vegetables, plants, jams, baked goods, fall decorations, and a variety of country store favorites. Most weekends in September and October, they also have free wagon rides into the orchards in Oldwick and horse-drawn wagon rides at the Califon Orchards. Kids can also enjoy animals, a corn maze, and a tractor ride.

Alstede Farms

1 Alstede Farms Ln, Chester, NJ 07930

Enjoy the feeling of picking your fruits and vegetables, jamming to live entertainment, family-friendly events, and so much more at Alstede Farms! You have to pre-purchase the PYO ticket online. Each guest that enters the fields has to have access to them which includes an entry fee.

Terhune Orchards

330 Cold Soil Road Princeton, NJ 08540

The pick-your-own patch at Terhune Orchards allows you to choose from pumpkins of all shapes and sizes! They also have a ton of events happening in the fall months. Weekend activities also include music, pony rides, scavenger hunts and a corn maze. Call the farm store at 609-924-2310 or visit the Pick-Your-Own Schedule to check on availability–each season brings a slightly different timing. Pumpkin picking is available at the main location on Cold Soil Road. Pick-your-own amongst the five acres in the pumpkin patch!

Demarest Farms

244 Wierimus Rd Hillsdale, NJ 07642

Demarest Farms is  Bergen County’s only pick-your-own peach orchard, apple orchard, and pumpkin patch. Demarest Farms Reservations are required for this season. The season begins on September 19th and the cost: $7 per person, which includes free parking, and entrance to the pumpkin patch. You get to pick the largest pumpkin you can carry for $12. You also get an apple cider donut and a cup of fresh-pressed cider!

Happy Day Farm

106 Iron Ore Rd, Manalapan Township, NJ 07726

Happy Day Farms is open for the season. Join them for the most Instagrammable farm. Their pumpkin houses and pumpkin patches are ready for you to enjoy. Tractor rides are included with admission. Admission pricing applies to adults and children. Their Fall Festival Days include pumpkinville, corn maze, pig races, tractor rides, fun slide, feeding zoo etc. Over 35 activities are included with admission. Tickets are required to enter all areas of the farm, Sat & Sun ($24 per person, including NJ sales tax). Once their website is sold out, no additional tickets will be available.

Minard’s Family Farm

250 Hurds Road, Clintondale, NY

Located an hour and a half away from Downtown Jersey City, Minards offers a ton of fun fall activities. They are now open for apple picking and pumpkin picking as well. The ripening schedule is approximate, depending on the growing season. Customers should call 866-632-7753 to verify which varieties are available for picking and at the farm stand.

Your purchase of our Regular Wristband ($14.00) includes unlimited play at the bouncy pillow, sand pit, chalk bus, petting zoo, spider web, pony hop, barnyard football and baseball, tug of war, tic-tac-toe, apple checkers, pumpkin bowling, tire mountain, peddle carts, corn maze and corn hole.

Snyders Farms

586 S Middlebush Rd, Somerset, NJ 08873

Join Snyders Family at the farm for some pumpkin picking and other fun fall activities. All festival dates are weather permitting. Please always check the weather before you visit.  No prepaid reservations or tickets are required. An entrance fee is required upon admittance but keep in mind they do not accept credit or debit cards at this time. In addition, they have hay rides, games, food, corn mazes and more!

R and J Farm Corn Maze and Hayride

Offering so many more attractions such as a corn maze, jumping pad, and a farm stand. Take a leisurely ride on one of their hay wagons and stop at the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to take home with you! 

Oasis Family Farm

3 Circle Drive Robbinsville, NJ 08691

Oasis Family Farm isn’t only a perfect place for pumpkin picking. They also have a fun zone for kids. The Fun Zone is open Saturday and Sunday from 10am- 5pm. Admission includes unlimited time in our Fun Zone area. This farm is also great for an aspiring paleontologist! They have several attractions including fossil digging, a gem mining.

Ripple Hill Farm

181 Mountain Road, Basking Ridge

Ripple Hill is a small family-owned and operated farm located in Basking Ridge, NJ, about 40 minutes from downtown Jersey City! They offer pick-your-own apples on Sundays through October from 12 PM – 2 PM. Pumpkins become available in October, and they have them available at the farm stand for purchase. Green Meadows Farm

3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234

We all know a tree grows in Brooklyn. But what about a pumpkin? Well, kind of! Green Meadows Farm in Brooklyn’s Barren Island is transformed into a farm and petting zoo with a pumpkin patch every weekend in October!
