Movies In The Park – In and Around Jersey City

Are you searching for things to do this summer? Make plans now and add movies in the parks in Jersey City to your calendar. Here’s a choice for an evening out that is affordable and free, except for you packing and getting your food and drinks. What is better than curling up in a blanket and enjoying a movie with the family under the stars? 

Many movies in the parks in Jersey City have assisted listening devices and other accommodations available so everyone can enjoy a summer movie under the stars. Additionally, we have a guide on drive-in movie theatres here. 

Tips for watching summer Movies In The Parks in Jersey City

 

  • Come Early
  • Bring a blanket or comfortable chair
  • Picnics or snacks are welcome at most movies in Jersey City and the surrounding areas in the park. But remember, alcohol is prohibited.

Movies in the Park locations include City Hall Plaza, Hamilton Park, Van Vorst Park, Riverview Park, Berry Lane Park, J. Owen Grundy Pier, Audubon Park, and more.

Movies On The Pier

Movies on the Pier will occur on Fridays at sunset at J. Owen Grundy Pier. There are food and drinks available for purchase. This is free and open to everyone. More information is here. 

 

Movies Under The Stars: Hoboken

This event is free; all movies start at 9 PM in June and July and at 8:00 PM in August. Movies under the Stars will be held on Wednesdays in June at Pier A Park, Northwest Resiliency Park, and 7th and Jackson Resiliency Park in Hoboken.

Pier A Park – 100 Sinatra Drive

June 28th: Top Gun: Maverick

July 12th: Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris

July 19th: Elvis

July 26th: Everything Everywhere All at Once

August 2nd: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Northwest Resiliency Park – 1200 Adams Street

June 21st: Turning Red

7th + Jackson Resiliency Park –  700 Jackson Street

August 9th: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

August 16th: Super Mario Bros. Movie

 

Screening on the Green – Presented by Peroni at W Hoboken

Experience the ultimate “silent” outdoor movie at the W Hoboken, presented by Peroni, premiering 5 top movies of all time every Thursday in June from 8 PM – 10 PM. Visit their Eventbrite page for more details. Guests will receive a headset, preferred seating, a free photo booth, and unlimited popcorn. Cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

The movie will be held on the lawn in front of the W Hoboken entrance adjacent to Halifax.

Time: 8:00 PM – 10 PM

The movie will start promptly at 8:15 PM.

Jersey City Movies In The Park

Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association:  

HPNA began hosting movies in the park during the summer of 2013. It continues to be the most popular event the HPNA hosts.

We are happy to announce the 2023 films and dates! Movies start shortly after sundown.

Friday, June 16: Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (Rain Date: June 23rd)

Friday, July 28th: Luca

Friday, August 18: Top Gun: Maverick

Friday, September 15: Sing 2

Friday, October 20: Ghostbusters
